Why this matters now

Regulators and plaintiffs’ lawyers are taking a close look at tracking on healthcare websites. Between 2023 and 2025, 19 enforcement cases led to over $100 million in penalties. HIPAA, the FTC and state privacy laws all cover this ground. When a pixel sends data from a condition or appointment page to an ad platform, you can run into all three. Turning it all off isn’t the answer either. You’d lose the data you need to run campaigns. You can keep measuring and stay compliant.

What you’ll take away

Find every tracker on your site

Learn how to see which tools run, on which pages and where their data goes.

Protect your health-related pages

Move appointment, condition and provider pages to privacy-first measurement without losing the insight your team relies on.

Make opt-outs work at the tag level

Make sure visitor choices are honored across your whole setup, not just in the banner.

Choose a platform that supports HIPAA compliance

Know what to require: a business associate agreement (BAA), hosting in the US, and a platform that doesn’t share your data with ad networks.
